Our Story

Our Commitment

Healing Harvest is committed to creating a transformative space where individuals can embark on their personal wellness journeys. Through the integration of an on-site vegetable farm, plant-based café, comprehensive education programs, spa and wellness center, and outdoor community space, we are dedicated to building a healthier and more connected community. Together, let's take the first step towards a better future.

In 2021, the Black Urban Farmers Association (BUFA) wanted to help the Stockton Community learn about and access healthy food.

Healing Harvest was born, and led by, BUFA's executive director, Reatha Hardy Jordan.

Our Mission

At Healing Harvest, our mission is to positively impact our community by promoting healthier lifestyles and empowering individuals to make better choices. One of the pressing issues we face is the high prevalence of obesity in our community, which not only affects the well-being of individuals but also contributes to substantial and unaffordable healthcare costs. In order to address this problem effectively, we are dedicated to providing the community with a comprehensive health and wellness facility.

Our Vision

Our vision for Healing Harvest is to improve the overall well-being of our community members.

Within our facility, we plan to establish an on-site vegetable farm, where individuals can witness the growth and cultivation of nutritious produce firsthand.

This will not only encourage the consumption of fresh, locally grown vegetables, but also provide an opportunity for community involvement through volunteering and educational programs.

To complement our vegetable farm, we are also planning to introduce a plant-based café within our facility.

This café will serve as a hub for individuals to enjoy delicious and nutritious meals that are aligned with their health goals.

By offering a diverse menu of plant-based options, we aim to promote the benefits of a balanced and sustainable diet that supports physical and mental well-being.

Community Driven

We believe that building a strong sense of community is essential for fostering healthy lifestyles.

Healing Harvest plans to develop an outdoor community space within our facility. This space will provide individuals with a place to connect, engage in physical activities, and build meaningful relationships.

By cultivating a sense of belonging and support, we hope to inspire a collective commitment towards healthier living.
Healing Harvest recognizes that education is important to help develop healthier habits.

To address this, we will be offering comprehensive healthy eating education programs. These programs will not only provide individuals with the knowledge they need to make informed choices, but also help them develop practical skills in meal planning, cooking, and nutrition.

Empowering the community to take control of their own health is a vital step towards creating a sustainable and lasting impact.

Education and Wellness

We also want to provide holistic services to support the community. Initially, we'll work with local organizations to sponsor services to our center.

Eventually, we'll transition to our own onsite masseuses and estheticians and offer these services at affordable rates.

These services will provide individuals with opportunities for relaxation, stress management, and self-care, which are essential to maintain a healthy mind-body connection and overall well-being.
